How to create a Google Business Profile ?

Written by Guillaume

A Google Business Profile allows your business to appear on Google and Google Maps. It helps customers quickly find your contact information, opening hours, address, website, photos, and Google reviews.

Having a Google profile is important to improve your online visibility and help customers find your business more easily when they search for your services.

Before you begin

To create a Google Business Profile, you need a Google account.

If you do not already have a Google account, create one before continuing.

Create a business profile

  1. Sign in to your Google account.

  2. Enter your business name.

If a profile already exists for your business, click “Request access to the profile”.

If no profile exists for that name, click “Create a business profile with this name”.

Add your business information

Google will then ask you to add the main information about your business.

  1. Choose your business category.

  2. When asked about a physical location, select “Yes”.

  3. Add your business address so it can appear on Google Maps.

  4. Enter your business contact information so customers can reach you.

  5. Add your website, if you have one.

Note: If you are self-employed and do not have a physical storefront, you can use your home address.

Verify your business

Google will then ask you to start the verification process to confirm that you own the business.

Until verification is completed, your profile may not be visible to customers on Google.

Once the Google Business Profile is created and the verification steps are completed, verification can take up to 5 business days. In some cases, it may be instant.

Complete your Google profile

After creating your profile, add the information that will help customers better understand your business.

You can add:

  • your opening hours

  • a description of your business

  • a photo of the outside of your establishment

  • any other photos you want to display on Google

This information helps customers recognize your business and understand the services you offer.

Connect your Google location to InputKit

Once your Google Business Profile is created and verified, you can connect your Google location to InputKit.

To do this:

  1. Log in to InputKit.

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner.

  3. Click “Integrations”.

  4. Click “ + Add integration”.

  5. Select “Google”.

  6. Click “Sign in to Google Business Profile”.

  7. At the location matching step, link your InputKit location to the new Google location.

Once the location is linked, InputKit will be able to use the Google connection based on your account configuration.
