Why does InputKit need specific access to your Google account?

Written by Guillaume

Now that your InputKit account is created, one of the first steps is to connect your Google profile (Business Profile / Google Business Profile) to the platform.

This connection allows InputKit to:

  • Display your Google reviews directly in the Reviews section

  • Let you reply to Google reviews without leaving InputKit

  • Let you edit or delete a reply that was already posted on a Google review

To enable these features, Google requires that certain permissions be granted to InputKit.

These permissions cannot be customized, because they follow the standards required by Google for managing business listings (Google Business Profile).

What these permissions are used for

In practice, these permissions are only used to:

  • Read your Google reviews so they can be displayed in InputKit

  • Publish or edit your review replies on your behalf

  • Ensure the integration between your Google Business Profile and InputKit works correctly
