How to Connect Discord to InputKit

Written by Guillaume

The Discord integration allows you to receive InputKit notifications directly in your server's channels. For example, when a client completes a survey, posts a new Google review, or is identified as highly satisfied, you can receive a notification in Discord to keep your team informed.

Step 1 – Create a Webhook in Discord

To connect Discord to InputKit, you must first create a webhook. This allows InputKit to automatically send notifications to the Discord channel of your choice.

  1. Open Discord and navigate to your server.

  2. Hover over the channel where you want to receive notifications.

  3. Click the gear icon "Edit Channel".

  4. Click "Integrations", then "Webhooks".

  5. Click "New Webhook".

  6. Give the webhook a name, such as "InputKit".

  7. Make sure the selected channel is where you want to receive notifications.

  8. Click "Copy Webhook URL".

Keep this URL for the next step.

Note: You must have permission to manage webhooks on your Discord server to complete this setup. Do not share the webhook URL publicly, as it allows messages to be sent to the associated channel.

Step 2 – Connect Discord to InputKit

Once you have copied the webhook URL, you can connect Discord to InputKit.

  1. Log in to InputKit.

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner.

  3. Click "Integrations".

  4. Click "Add Integration".

  5. Select "Discord".

  6. Paste the webhook URL into the designated field.

  7. Click "Connect".

Once connected, you can configure which events should trigger notifications.

Step 3 – Test the Connection

Before configuring your triggers, you can send a test message to make sure the connection is working properly.

  1. In the Discord integration, click "Send Test Message".

  2. Open the Discord channel associated with your webhook.

  3. Verify that the test message appears in the channel.

If the message does not appear, make sure the webhook URL is complete and that the webhook is still active in Discord.

Step 4 – Add a Trigger

Triggers allow you to determine which InputKit events should generate a notification in Discord.

To add a trigger:

  1. Open the Discord integration in InputKit.

  2. Click "Add Trigger".

  3. Select the desired event, for example:

    • Survey Completed

    • New Google Review

    • Highly Satisfied Client

  4. Select the relevant sequences if the event is related to a survey.

  5. Select the Discord channel where you want to receive notifications, if multiple channels are configured.

  6. Click "Create Trigger".

Once the trigger is created, InputKit can send notifications to the associated Discord channel whenever the defined conditions are met.

You can create multiple triggers to receive different types of notifications.

What You Can Do with the Discord Integration

Depending on the selected trigger, notifications can inform you of the following events:

  • Survey Completed: When a client completes a satisfaction survey.

  • New Google Review: When a new review is posted on your Google Business Profile.

  • Highly Satisfied Client: When a client expresses a high level of satisfaction.

These notifications allow your team to monitor client feedback directly in Discord.

You can also use different channels to organize notifications by type, such as one channel for completed surveys and another for new Google reviews.

Disconnect Discord

If you no longer want to receive InputKit notifications in Discord, you can disconnect the integration.

  1. In InputKit, click your name in the top-right corner.

  2. Click "Integrations".

  3. Open the Discord integration.

  4. Click "Disconnect".

  5. Confirm the disconnection.

Once the integration is disconnected, InputKit notifications will no longer be sent to the associated Discord channels.

You can also delete the webhook directly from your Discord server settings.

Use Case

This integration can be useful if your team uses Discord for internal communication and wants to stay informed whenever a client completes a survey or posts a new Google review.

For example, you can configure a trigger to notify your team when a highly satisfied client is identified, allowing you to share positive feedback and recognize the employees involved.
