SMS step

Written by Guillaume

This article explains how to access and edit the SMS step in a sequence. It covers the elements you can update and where to find each setting.

How to access the SMS step

To access this step:

  1. Click “Feedback” in the left menu, then select the “Sequences” tab.

  2. Click the sequence you want to edit.

  3. Click the “SMS” step.

How to edit the SMS step

These are the elements you can edit in the SMS step:

  • SMS sender name

  • SMS content

  • Call to action

How to edit the SMS sender name

To edit the sender name, locate “SMS Sender Name” in the “SMS Survey Configuration” section.

This is where you can update the sender name and its translations for all languages in the sequence.

Enter the value you want to apply the change.

Tip: Use a human name for the sender name and specify which business the SMS comes from (for example, Philippe from Griffe de Velours). This helps reassure clients and makes the SMS easier to recognize.

How to edit the SMS content (introduction text)

The SMS content appears below the sender name. To edit it, update the text in “SMS Introduction Text”.

Shortcodes

You can use the same shortcodes as in the email step to personalize your SMS content. For example, {CUSTOMER_NAME | } can insert the customer’s name automatically.

How to edit the call to action

The call to action appears as a label in the SMS, followed by the survey link.

The field used to edit it is located under the SMS content field.

To edit it, update the value in “SMS Call to Action”.

Note: The link after the call to action allows the client to continue to the next steps, such as the questionnaire.

You can also send yourself a test SMS to preview the message. To do so, scroll down in the preview, enter your phone number, then click “Send Test SMS”.

Phone number

Phone numbers used for sends are selected during account setup or when SMS sending is enabled. They are visible and can be assigned to different locations in your account settings under “Phone Management”.

Attention: If you do not have a phone number configured, contact support via the chat to enable SMS sending for your account.
