Migration Guide: Moving from the Classic InputKit Version to the New Version

Written by Guillaume

Welcome to the new InputKit platform! This major update modernizes the interface, simplifies navigation, and brings new features to help you better manage your customer experience. This guide walks you through the transition and shows you where to find each of your favorite features.

📱 InputKit Mobile App

The new version comes with the launch of a mobile app for iOS and Android, allowing you to manage your customer experience directly from your phone. With the mobile app, you can:

  • Receive your real-time notifications (Google reviews, unhappy customers, sequence responses, discussion messages)

  • View and respond to Google reviews wherever you are

  • Access the discussion thread to follow up on customer exchanges on the go

  • Keep an eye on your key indicators from the mobile dashboard

A Quick Look at the Changes

The new version has been redesigned around three principles: fewer menus, more personalization, and centralized customer follow-up. You'll find the same foundations (sequences, sendings, Google reviews, unhappy customers), but reorganized and enhanced with new tools like the discussion thread, the Quick Actions menu, and individual notifications for each user.

🤖 AI Reply Settings for Google Reviews

A new configuration panel to customize AI-generated responses to Google reviews. Accessible via Reviews → Google → AI Reply Settings in the left menu, it allows you to:

  • Enable "Learn from previous responses" so the AI aligns with the style of your already published responses (disable this if your business uses multiple styles)

  • Define a contact type for unhappy customers (email or phone) with the contact information to display, making follow-up easier

  • Add an automatic signature at the end of responses (duplicates are avoided if a signature is already present)

  • Provide additional context to the AI (services, policies, warranties, certifications) for more relevant responses

  • Click "Generate with AI" to automatically fill in the context from your company's website — remember to review the proposed content before saving

🧭 A New Navigation Structure

The old version had about twenty distinct sections (Dashboard, Sequences, Sendings, Results, Reports, Customers, Settings, Surveys, Users, Employees, Metrics, Departments, Integrations, etc.). The new version groups these sections into more intuitive broad categories:

🔔 Notification Management

Designed to simplify your daily workflow, this major update centralizes all your notification settings in one place to give you maximum flexibility.

Old platform

Notifications were configured per sequence by an administrator.

New platform

Each user can now configure their own alerts: choose what you want to be notified about and how. To access Notification Management:

  1. Click your name at the top right

  2. Select Settings

  3. In the Profile & Company Settings section, click Notifications

You can then enable/disable each of these categories:

  • Browser notifications (new) — receive alerts directly in your browser, even when InputKit isn't open

  • New Google reviews — in-app (email notifications coming soon)

  • Sequence responses — choose the specific sequences to monitor

  • Unhappy customers — by email AND in-app, with sequence selection

  • Discussion messages (new) — for the discussion thread

  • Weekly report — email summary

✨ New Features

The Quick Actions Menu

A universal shortcut for your most frequent actions. Click the lightning bolt symbol ⚡ at the top right, next to your name, to quickly access reviews to handle, responses, reports, and more. The menu is fully customizable (add or remove shortcuts to fit your workflow).

The Discussion Thread

The most important addition for customer follow-up. Accessible via the chat icon at the top right, the discussion thread centralizes all your exchanges with customers following their responses to a sequence. You can:

  • Filter by unread messages or unhappy customers only

  • Reply directly to the customer (with response templates or AI)

  • Add internal notes for team follow-up

  • Change the case status by clicking "Actions" (Customer Contacted, Completed, etc.) — replacing the alert management from App 1

AI Assistant and Automated Responses

  • AI responses for Google reviews — settings to automatically generate replies

  • AI responses in the discussion thread
